Chicken Larb for Babies and Toddlers
We're almost 1 over here and we're going full tilt flavor!
Finn is almost one! Which means the puree era is slowly (and sadly) coming to an end. I still sneak in a few purees here and there because I cannot stop myself from buying every single summer fruit at the farmers market and turning it into baby food. It’s my love language. But for the most part, we’re moving into the world of real-deal toddler food. Chunkier textures, bigger flavors, food that Finn can handle, that Poppy loves, and that doesn’t take me forever to cook.
So today we’re taking one of my all-time favorite recipes, chicken larb, and making it approachable for babies and toddlers. Larb is usually full of pickles, kale, sambal, sugar, lime juice, herbs… the works. It’s bold and bright and incredible. But with a few tweaks, it becomes the perfect meal to ease babies and toddlers into more layered flavors.
And yes, update from the Dawson-Dalkin household: we still don’t have any teeth. Which means textures matter, but it’s wild how well Finn manages to chew with his gums. He’s handling chunkier bites like a champ, and I want to keep doubling down on flavor so he grows up loving food that tastes like something, not just bland baby mush.
